Last weekend we did our first set of deadlifts and we could both feel the positive benefits from it (as well some ache, but let's not focus on that).
Today we had our regular Saturday morning row, which was performed in fantastic conditions - a bit chilly, some sun and very calm water. Unfortunately we had to row in separate boats this time. I (Jan) had a really good 15 km outing in the eight. As this was a coached session and it went well, we got some positive comments from our coach, which lifted the already good spirit even higher than it already was.
Probably due to last weekends' deadlifts, comments I received from our coach included "your body position looks really good" and "you have a lot of power, use it!". :-)
Lars rowed 12 km in a single scull - well done!
Despite these rowing sessions making us tired, we could not keep our hands (and legs) away from some weight training:
Deadlifts
Lars 2 x 5 x 70 kg, 1 x 7 x 70 kg*
Jan 2 x 5 x 100 kg, 1 x 10 x 100 kg*
Benchpress
Lars 3 x 5 x 55 kg
Jan 5 x 70 kg (too light), 5 x 80 kg (a bit too heavy), 5 x 75 kg (perfect, for now)
*) This means that we next time should increase the weight slightly for the planned 3 x 5!
