As can be expected, we get quite a lot of requests for rowing (and other training) sessions from our vast fan base. We have to kindly decline most of them, but when request comes from honourable member of the club’s rowing committee it is hard to decline.
Said and done we arranged a session with one of our fans last Wednesday morning. Let’s call it* Suzanne (because that is its’* name).
Lars could unfortunately not join, but that did not stop us. Well on the water – which was not ideal – we had a fully OK session and considering the conditions a very good one.
Only at a later point, do I get to know that the longer pause at the finish caused some concern! Considering the rowing committee had to cancel a planned technique brunch discussion last year due to pre-discussions on the topic of micropause, I do understand this kind of macro(!) pause is controversial, but it felt good and right at the time.
As a consequence we will for next few weeks requests rowing sessions with the fan base and take mentioned macro pause technique into a comprehensive evaluation session in order to determine its’ use in the future.

**) Don’t ask how this post-modernist Swedish style has managed to influence the blog, but it is indeed a worrying development
"It" was a bit confused and challenged by the macropause, as "it" also had to watch out for other boats, sitting on position 1. "It" normally tries to avoid this, but a we say in Sweden, "the emergency has no law" and wanting to minimize the risk of sinking with the weight unevenly distributed in bad water 😁
