Paradigm shifts!

At times throughout our history we are faced with paradigm shifts, we invent the wheel, someone tames electricity, Norway finds oil, Finland finds the mobile phone and so on. These vary in significance, are not common occurrences and typically changes our lives for the foreseeable future.

While we can all agree that 2020 has been a special year, we can now report that last week has given us not only one, but two paradigm shifts in areas close to us! While the consequences have not yet been fully felt, these will have profound effects on our near, medium and long term future.

The above picture could have a relation to the content of this text.

In short:

The first paradigm shift observed last weekend is that Erick (not his real name) - known to row "in watch and mop"(from the Swedish "i ur och skur") decided not to travel to the rowing club on a Saturday morning! Me and many others have never observed this behavior in the many years we have known Erick. In other words a true paradigm shift!

While the shocks of this announcement were still fresh, Larz (again not his real name) joined our extra BRAK session! This was a very positive surprise, but the real paradigm shift is what happened next: While Larz was enjoying the enjoyable side effects in his body from this training session he decided to do some extra BRAK sessions on his own and for that purpose download a interval time app etc. In other words, he is finally shouldering the mantel of becoming deputy BRAK instructor! As a friend of ours likes to say:

"When the student is ready, the master arrives."

So, as we go forward in life and adjust to these paradigm shifts, remember where you read about them first.
